A successful connection
syreta establishes connection between Unimarkt and delivery platform Foodora
A lot has happened in the approximately eight years since Foodora was founded. In addition to short-term name changes, delivery areas were expanded and new restaurants were constantly added to the offering. In 2021, the delivery platform took another step forward and initially implemented the option in Vienna to also have groceries delivered from supermarkets, gas station shops and selected partners. Over time, the delivery areas of the online provider were further expanded, and this option was also brought to Upper Austria.
In Linz, Wels, Steyr and Vöcklabruck, customers can now conveniently shop at local Unimarkt branches via the platform.
Existing webshop facilitates Foodora integration
Since Unimarkt has had an online shop built by syreta for years, only a few technical adjustments were necessary for the Foodora connection. All article information and images were already available from sales through the webshop and only needed to be transferred to the Foodora platform. For this purpose, experts at syreta programmed their own interfaces to enable smooth data exchange.
A dedicated interface for communication
The biggest challenge in the project was the discrepancy that arose from sales via the platform in the stock and daily turnover of the delivering branch, as the billing is done through Foodora.
Therefore, a dedicated interface was created to transfer the items and sales ordered through Foodora back to the branch. This way, the "sale to Foodora" can be properly recorded, and there is a seamless accounting process.
If Foodora decides to include more areas in the delivery offering in the future, additional Unimarkt branches can be added at any time, as the solutions programmed by syreta can be used flexibly. We like such sophisticated solutions!
