Retail Technology

We bring digital solutions to the stationary sales floor and take another step towards meeting your customers' needs. The right path to 100% omnichannel implementation.

The future of shopping has begun

POST-COVID - what does the retail sector look like in the near future? The significance of online retail has increased significantly. Almost one in five euros is already spent online. Consumers will continue to visit physical stores, but more as a source of inspiration, to physically view goods or for local supply. However, the last mile in online retail continues to be a significant problem for digital trade. The delivery costs for shopping baskets under EUR 60 or high returns impact the profitability of online retail.

Due to the economic consequences of the Corona pandemic, an increase in purchasing power and therefore higher shopping baskets in online retail cannot be expected. With the digital store from syreta, we come one step closer to the customers and bring familiar technologies and procedures from online retail to the stationary area. The cost-effective digital stores in operation conserve the operational budget, and due to low acquisition costs, retailers can quickly and comprehensively roll out the concept. This allows retailers to continue being present close to customers.

Join a revolution in retail

The digital store offers an expandable and mobile shopping system, which can be placed anywhere – OUTDOOR without additional construction on green spaces or INDOOR, as long as existing buildings are accessible. This innovative store is open 365 days a year and relies on a contactless and autonomous system.

UNIBox: The path to digital local supply

Shopping can also be done on Sundays and holidays: The innovative store is open 365 days a year. This is made possible by the contactless and autonomous system, and it's also because the UNIBox operates completely without employees.

"Innovations are important to continually develop and keep up with changing customer needs - this is exactly what we achieve with the UNIBox," said Andreas Haider (Managing Director of Unimarkt Group)

With this step, the Unimarkt Group is once again setting forward-looking accents in the digitization of local supply.

Chat

CLOSER 2 CUSTOMER

Proximity to customers remains a key success factor even in digitalization. To enable personal consultation in an autonomously operated store, a VideoChat has been integrated. Your customers can start a video conversation with a sales consultant with just one click.

Overview of VideoChat functions

  • Integrated speaker and camera at the terminal
  • Start VideoChat by clicking on the terminal's touch screen
  • Software for call agents to accept and manage video calls

Virtually extended counter

For retail, syreta has developed a special terminal solution. The customer accesses the webshop via the terminal at the POS, for example, when the desired product is out of stock in the store or not part of the range. The order is placed online. The product is conveniently sent home or to the store (Click & Collect). The purchase is paid for either at the bank terminal at the terminal or with a printed receipt at the store checkout.

In the second variant, the revenue remains with the local retailer, who thus generates additional revenue through online purchases.

The terminal solution, however, not only functions as an extended sales counter. It can also be effectively used as a product configurator, information terminal, or for advertising purposes using digital signage.

Electronic Shelf Label (ESL)

Smart technology at the POS

ESL (Electronic Shelf Label) are price tags based on e-paper technology, used in retail for displaying price and product information. Due to their high flexibility, Electronic Shelf Labels are gradually replacing the usual paper shelf labels.

With the help of this technology, legally compliant information can be displayed fully automatically and promptly on the products - eliminating the tedious manual change for assortment, promotional, or price adjustments.

Due to the self-sufficient energy supply lasting several years, the signs can be placed anywhere on the retail floor. Different sizes and formats are available depending on the application, including for the refrigerated and frozen assortment.

syreta delivers, in addition to the hardware (signs and control components), the complete server and management software, as well as the interfaces for seamless integration into the customer's ERP system.

Advantages and Features of ESL

Data Management
Central provision of article data and prices.

The cloud-based system enables the centralized provision of article master data and prices. Changes to this data are automatically transmitted to the corresponding signs. This allows actions to be rolled out in a matter of minutes.

Central Layout Control
The appearance of the labels can be adjusted accordingly for different areas.

The different layouts are entered into the central system and sent to the correct labels according to the corresponding rules. This enables the display of the necessary article information for the different types of articles.

The layout is independent of the article and branch-dependent data and is rolled out centrally.

Communication
In the retail area, the transmission of data occurs via 2.4GHz wireless communication.

The signs used are bidirectional: This confirms the receipt of the data to the server software, allowing the last update time and the current content on the ESL to be displayed in the management software.

Thanks to the WLAN technology used, the transmitters have a range of up to 30m.

Dynamic Pricing
Revenue increase through dynamic pricing at the POS.

Through ESL technology, retailers can react to changing market situations, such as customer frequency or time of day, within minutes and update sales prices centrally.

For omni-channel retailers, this provides the opportunity to respond directly to price changes of competitors in brick-and-mortar stores as well, in order to offer customers a consistent pricing structure.

Additional Features
Display of QR codes, multilingual content & LED indicators.

At the POS, there are also some other advantages for the retailer and customers compared to the classic paper label. For example, "multi-page" information can be offered, which automatically changes. This makes it possible to display data in different languages, additional information, or even product-specific QR codes.

The integrated LEDs can be used as markers for various tasks, such as inventory, and guide the sales staff at the POS to the correct items.

Smart store solutions that convince.

In the future, brick-and-mortar retail will need an "intelligent store" to stay in business. A digital shopping and experience world attracts online-savvy customers back to the store. We support and implement Smart Store solutions for our customers, such as:

  • Digital Signage
  • RFID Technology such as Lift & Learn solutions
  • Videowalls
