How QR Codes Simplify Daily Operations at Holzinger Fish

With a company history of over 130 years, the family business Holzinger Fischverarbeitungs GmbH, based in Luckenberg in Upper Austria, has long made a name for itself in the food industry. Over the years, there have been not only several generational changes—the company is now led by the fifth generation—but also numerous renovations, modernizations, and expansions of the company premises.

The company now boasts 90 pond tanks where the fresh fish are housed, cared for, and tended to until processed. With this number of tanks, it's not always easy to keep track and be able to say offhand which fish is in which tank.

The Diverse Applications of Digital Solutions

After the successful launch of the new company website this spring, syreta was able to assist the fish expert with this issue through the incorporation of QR codes.

From now on, every incoming fish delivery can be assigned a QR code. This code is then associated with one of the 90 tanks where the fish are housed until further processing. Additionally, all relevant data about the animals can be stored with the code.

Later, a scan not only reveals everything about the fish species, but also brings all vital information about the origin and delivery of the aquatic creatures immediately into view.

We find the QR codes not only useful, but they also look really chic embedded in the idyllic Holzinger Fish premises, don't you think?
