OMV takes the next step in the field of digitalization with syreta.

syreta's Unibox installation breaks new ground

On Monday, February 7, 2022, the "OMV Fastlane," the first completely contactless and digitized gas station, was presented and officially opened on Lunzerstraße in Linz. The specialists from syreta, who provided the technology for the Unibox and also implemented the redesign of the new store concept, were again significantly involved. Instead of being housed in a container as before, the autonomous store was this time directly integrated into the existing premises of the former Avanti gas station.

From the initial discussions to the completion of the new integrated Unibox, less than six months passed. In December, the revamped gas station opened its doors to customers for a trial run. The autonomous Unibox store, which offers around 900 products of daily needs, is accessible as usual with the Unimarkt app. The further shopping process, as before, functions quickly, easily, and contactlessly via the app and touchscreens.

The oil company OMV, which had already digitized its sales areas years ago in collaboration with syreta, succeeded in completely digitizing the sales area with this flagship project, thus creating a completely new store type in Austria. At the event, the managing directors also discussed their future plans and revealed that the next "OMV FastLane" is planned to open in Graz in the coming months. We are already looking forward to it …
